A feature film starring Enniskillen-born actress and painter, Claire Falconer is to have its first official screening at Cannes Film festival in May.

Claire, a daughter of Seamus and Anne Falconer from Enniskillen, also worked as Executive Producer on the film entitled Silver Case.

Silver Case will have its first official screening in Cannes at the Palais des Festival as part of the Cannes Film Market Programme.

The film is a crime comedy produced and directed by award winning Italian filmmaker Christian Filippella, who with Claire founded Satyricon Pictures two years ago.

The film has an impressive international cast starring Academy Award nominees Eric Roberts (Runaway Train, The Dark Knight) and Seymour Cassel (Faces, Royal Tenenbaums). It also features Shalim Ortiz (Heroes), Stanley B. Herman (Black Swan), and Andrea Boccaletti (Sex and The City).

The story centres on a sealed silver briefcase with mysterious contents. The movie was shot on location in California and in Italy. And it is hoped that the movie will be premiered officially at upcoming leading international festivals.

Movie production of Silver Case was completed a few weeks ago. Negotiations are at an advanced stage for distribution, but a deal has not been signed just yet.

A former student at Mount Lourdes and a Law graduate from Queen's University in Belfast, Claire is also well known for her painting. Locally her work has been on sale at Clanart gallery. As an artist, she's currently working on a new series of paintings.

With offices in Italy and Hollywood, Satyricon Pictures aims to establish itself as a premiere label in the independent film business, bringing quality entertainment to audiences around the world.

Claire's fellow founder of Satyricon Pictures is Christian Filippella, an award winning Italian filmmaker. His thesis film for his directing degree at the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia national film school in Rome, Thermae, also starred Claire. The film premiered in Northern America at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre and was selected at Screamfest, the largest horror film festival in the United States. Filippella was the only Italian filmmaker to be awarded a Fulbright Scholarship from the United States government to take a master degree in directing in the United States.
