FIRST Minister Arlene Foster has said she has “nothing to hide” after it emerged that DUP colleague Jonathan Ball will “tell the truth” in a television interview tonight.
Pressure is mounting on Mrs. Foster as she faces the heat over her role in the flawed renewable heat incentive (RHI) scheme that critics claim could cost the tax payer £400 million over the next 20 years.
Mr. Bell, who was DETI Minister at the time of the spike in applications for the RHI in 2015 has told the BBC's Stephen Nolan: “I'll tell the truth over RHI scandal and it will ruin my career.”
In a tearful clip from the interview, he said: "I did not seek office to close hospitals while hundreds of millions of pounds are abused. I'll tell the truth and my political career will be ruined."
In an exclusive interview with The Impartial Reporter today, Mrs. Foster said: “I am very much much looking forward to truth coming out because I have absolutely nothing to hide.”
“I think he has stepped outside of the party lines, he has not communicated with me in any way recently, so it'll be a matter now for party officers on which actions to take.”
