A SPEEDBOAT was spotted yesterday evening on fire near Lusty Beg Island.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it received a call from the Coastguard to reporting that a speedboat was on fire with four people on board at about 5.47pm.
Two fire appliances, one from Belleek Fire Station and two from Enniskillen Fire Station, attended the incident.
A NIFRS spokeswoman said: “Firefighters were deployed in conjunction with the Coastguard, PSNI and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
“On arrival at the Island it was confirmed that the four people on board the speedboat had safely returned to the Island and had extinguished the fire.
“Firefighters carried out an inspection of the boat and made it safe by disconnecting the battery.”
