A person was airlifted to hospital on Sunday afternoon (May 14) following a boat fire on Upper Lough Erne at the Crom Estate Road area of Newtownbutler.
The incident, where a cruiser-style boat was engulfed in flames and plumes of black smoke could be seen by witnesses, was reported to emergency services just before 1pm on Sunday.
Representatives of the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI), Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) and the PSNI attended the incident.
A NIFRS spokesperson said: “On Sunday afternoon, NIFRS were called to the Crom Estate area of Newtownbutler as part of a multi-agency response to a boat on fire.
"Two fire appliances from Enniskillen Fire Station, and one fire appliance from Lisnaskea, attended the incident along with our emergency service colleagues.
"NIFRS left the scene at 4pm and the cause remains under investigation.”
An Emergency Ambulance, Rapid Response Paramedic and the charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board were tasked to the incident.
A NIAS spokesperson said: "Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by air ambulance."
Representatives of the RNLI were also in attendance. An RNLI spokesperson said: "Once on scene, the crew observed that the casualty was in care of the ambulance service.
"The lifeboat stood by during the incident to ensure other vessels on the water were kept back. The lifeboat was stood down at 3.15pm."
