Kinawley recorded an emphatic win over Derrygonnelly at the weekend as the top two sides in Division One met at Patrick McManus Park.

Both sides were without key players going into the game and had recorded heavy wins in their opening league fixtures.

The hosts made an emphatic start to Sunday’s meeting and led 3-10 to no score at halftime.

Goals from Gemma McCaffrey (2) and Roísín O’Reilly were assisted with points from Joanne Doonan, Danielle Maguire, Lisa Maguire and Niamh McManus to put them in complete control of the contest.

Lynne Carroll eventually got Derrygonnelly off the mark in the second half but further points from Lisa Maguire, McCaffrey, Doonan and Keelan Murphy saw Kinawley add to their impressive list of results so far this season.

Elsewhere in Division One, Belcoo snatched a 4-07 to 3-08 win over Newtownbutler as Sinead Barrett’s goal in the closing stages sealed another victory for the O’Rahilly’s.

Newtownbutler made an ideal start to the contest as Roisin Bannon and Noelle Connolly found the net to open up an early lead.

Bannon found a second goal for the home side but Ciara Parker pulled back a goal midway into the half alongside points from Eimear Higgins.

A good interception from Ella McGovern allowed her to find the net to leave the halftime score at 3-05 to 2-03 at the break.

Belcoo started the second half well with points from Parker and Higgins to close the gap before Scarlett O’Connor fired in a third goal.

The sides then traded scores before Barrett struck the final blow of the game and Belcoo held on to secure a second league win.

Tempo also recorded a big win over Aghadrumsee scoring 10 goals at St Patrick’s Park.

Blaithin Bogue helped herself to an impressive 3-08 leading the Maguires to victory while there were also goals from Cora McCaughey, Hannah McNabb (2), Kayleigh Bradley West, Nuala Curran, Cadhla Bogue, Emilie Reihill and Bronagh Tierney.

McCaughey finished the day with 1-5 in another brilliant individual scoring performance.

In Division 2, Enniskillen Gaels defeated Brookeborough by two points with a 5-10 to 4-11 scoreline.

Early goals from Lara Beckett, Ciara O Donnell and Paula Mc Cool set the Enniskillen side in the ascendency at halftime with all their forwards registering scores in the game.

However, Brookeborough would come back into it in the second half with four goals from Sarah Teague (2), Madonna Curran and Louise Devlin, with Nuala McManus also finishing with 0-4 but it wasn’t enough as the Gaels just about held on with their first half scoring proving vital.

Ederney saw off Devenish with a 1-19 to 2-12 win in Garrison and Lisnaskea and Belnaleck shared the points with a 2-08 to 2-08 draw at Emmet Park in Division Two.

In Division Three, Knockinny continued their winning run with a 6-22 to 0-12 victory at home to Belleek leaving them with four wins from four games.

St. Pat's also sealed a convincing 7-20 to 2-06 win over Maguiresbridge in Donagh on Friday evening.
