Published on 07/10/2021
OWENS Rose The daughters (Madge and Pauline) and son (Seamus) of Rose Owens would like to express our sincere thanks to all who have sympathised with us on the loss of Rose, loving Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Thanks to all who sympathised in person, by telephone or message service, who sent Mass or sympathy cards, and those who stood out as a mark of respect as Rose's remains were brought home. Thanks also to the crowds of people who lined the route and gathered at the Chapel as Rose made her final journey to her Funeral Mass in Teemore, and to all who sent flowers and those who provided refreshments for the wake. We thank the staff and volunteers of the Derrylin Coffee Morning and the Swanlinbar and Teemore Day Centres and to all of Rose's friends there who made those days so enjoyable for her, and her neighbours in Market Square and latterly Clachan Court for their kindness and care when she needed it. Thanks to the doctors in Derrylin Medical Practice and to McGovern's Pharmacy in Derrylin. Particular thanks to Catherine, Imelda, and Mary for their help as Rose's health began to fail, and to the staff of Gnangara Care home in the final weeks of Rose's life. To the staff of Ward-8 SWAH, we extend special thanks for the caring and dignified way you looked after Rose in her final days, and thanks also to Fr Martin Donnelly for attending Rose with the "Anointing of the Sick" holy sacrament. Deepest gratitude to all who helped give Rose a dignified and respectful funeral, undertaker Pat Blake, car park attendants, gravediggers, sacristan, eucharistic ministers and stewards, and Eimear and Fiona for the lovely music that Rose would have so enjoyed. Finally, special thanks to Fr Gerry Alwill for the lovely words and service at Rose's Funeral Mass, and for the prayers and spiritual support at the house and elsewhere. As it would be impossible to thank individually all those whose kindness has brought such comfort to us, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all with our sincere thanks. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. Rose was predeceased by husband Jim, son John, daughter Tina, grandson Dermot, and son-in-law Stevie. Rose's Month's Mind Mass will take place on Sunday 10th October at 9:45am in St Mary's Church, Teemore.
