GILLIGAN Mary Josephine Glendun, Castlebalfour, Lisnaskea The family of Mary Gilligan, Glendun, Castlebalfour, Lisnaskea wish to extend their sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. A very special thanks to the many kind relations, neighbours, friends in Lisnaskea and beyond who kept in touch with Mammy during the pandemic and helped and supported her through her grief and loneliness over past months since Daddy died. Your thoughtful visits, trips out, frequent phone calls and even your waves from the road when you were passing the house made an enormous difference to Mammy's enjoyment of life and kept her feeling positive. Thank you Rose; Susan; Uncle Alec, Auntie Kathleen, Uncle Paddy, Uncle Reggie, Michael & Eileen; Michael & Eilish; Kathleen; Anne; Una, Joey; Catherine; Peela; Joe and Jean; JJ; Pat; and the Tracey Family, Clones. A special thanks to Connor, Elaine & family and Ian, Elaine & family for all the much-valued time, chats and practical help you gave to Mammy; and to Debbie for cheering her up and making her feel beautiful. A special mention to Hugh's and our much-loved friend Ray and his wife Collette who visited Mammy and Daddy regularly, and who travelled from Lurgan every day of Mammy's wake and Funeral to give tremendous support to us all. We will be forever grateful for the patience, kindness and humour shown to Mammy by her long-term carers Imelda, Nora, Janet, Leanne, and WHSCT Care Team, and by Lorraine McCaffrey and her children. You were Mammy's lifeline and link to the world, and she and Daddy just loved you all to bits. We will never forget your tender, loving care and all the lovely drawings. Thanks also to Mammy's newer carers Yvonne, Louise and Lakeland Community Care, who did their best to make her meals as nice as Daddy had done. Also to Margaret and all the Staff and friends at Drumhaw Day Centre where Mammy looked forward to attending every Friday with great excitement. Mammy suffered ill health for many years, and her constant pain was made easier to bear by the care and support she received in the community. Our heartfelt gratitude always to Julie, Felicity, Denise, and all the Staff in Clarkes Pharmacy for their love, kindness and care over the years. You patiently treated Mammy like a queen at all times and were her dear friends. A special word of thanks to Shirley, Marilyn and Karen and all the Lisnaskea District Nursing Team for their care, encouragement and reassurance, and prompt attendance on the morning Mammy became ill. We will forever be grateful to the Paramedics and the wonderful Staff on Ward 3 SWAH who treated Mammy during her brief final illness, and the amazing, compassionate Vivienne and Claire-Anne of the Palliative Care Team who helped us understand and come to terms with Mammy's journey, and who ensured that Mammy had a very peaceful, pain-free passing. We wish to thank Canon Jimmy McPhillips for conducting Mammy's Funeral Mass and burial in such a thoughtful and meaningful way. Thanks to Karen for her beautiful singing; and to the Church Officials; the Gravediggers; those who carried Mammy's coffin; and everyone else who helped in any way. Thanks especially to Ollie and Leo Swift and all at Swift and McCaffrey Funeral Directors for the sensitive, supportive and professional manner in organising and carrying out the funeral arrangements, and for all that you've done for our family during this difficult time. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those kind people who helped with catering within the home and to the Killyhevlin Hotel for providing such a lovely meal after the Funeral. Thank you to our friends who called to the house and also to those who were unable to do so because of Covid regulations, who instead lined the route of the funeral cortege. We were so touched by this. Thank you also to those who brought and sent cards, letters and gifts to us and those who phoned and texted and left messages on social media. We thank the people of Lisnaskea who welcomed, befriended, loved and supported our parents throughout their fifty-six or so wonderful years of living there and raising their family. Finally, we would like to thank our own partners and families for their love and support. It is our sincere hope that we have not overlooked anyone and this will be accepted by all who helped and sympathised as a mark of our grateful appreciation. ________ A Mass in honour of Mammy's Months Memory, Daddy's Second Anniversary and Hugh's 26th Anniversary will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church, Lisnaskea on Sunday 15th May 2022 at 11am. "May they Rest in Peace." - Fiona, Orla and Deirdre.
