MAGUIRE Daire 19 Hollybank, Lisnaskea Sunday 16th July 2023 We the Wife Breda, Children Meghan and Christopher, Parents Eamon and Bernie and sister Catherine, brothers Conor and Eamonn, mother-in-law Margaret Mullaly and wider circle of family and friends wish to thank all those who sympathised with them at the recent tragic death of Daire, along with Gene McDonald (Co. Cavan) who died on Sunday July 16th 2023 at the Sligo Stages Rally near Ballymote, Co. Sligo. We thank as follows: The First Responders from Motorsport Ireland, Ambulance Crews, the Fire Brigade, the Gardai including Liaison Officer, David Finnerty. Motorsport Ireland for their compassion and support including Ultan McGowan, Joe and Jackie Corcoran, Robert Lyttle, and Aidan Harper. Jim Reilly (Chairperson of Cavan Motor Club), a tower of strength, for every assistance from day one. The Hever families of Ballymote who have shared this tragedy with great compassion. The Management and Staff of CADCO especially Gerry Cadden, Danielle Carney and Tony Reihill, for the guards of honour, the closure and every assistance - we are humbled. James McCarville for his unending support in so many ways. All the neighbours and friends who called at Derryanna and Lurganboy with understanding, compassion and food including the Conlon family who helped most kindly. George Birney, for his constant support, on and off the farm. All those that assisted and helped with refreshments both at the funeral home and Derryanna. Bernard, June, Helena and Barney for your love and support and everything you did behind the scenes. Fr. James McDonagh of Ballymote for his services on multiple occasions. Erne Bistro for the food and kindness. The Guards of Honour from Mount Lourdes and St. Michaels Schools, Enniskillen, CADCO and the Motorsport Clubs across the country. The coffin carriers and in particular to Michael McDaid (Fermanagh), Damien O'Reilly (Cavan), Noel Lappin (Cavan) and Eddie Peterson (Wicklow) - four special friends. The special friends and relatives who made trips from across the country and from England and further afield, and to the many hundreds of people who attended the funeral home to pay their respects and sign the books of condolences. Fr. Tom Coffey (family friend and relation to Bernie Maguire) for receiving Daire's remains back at Derryanna and who was an immense comfort to us all. The people who lined the roads on Monday and Wednesday evening and again on the morning of the funeral. The hundreds of Mass and Sympathy Cards and Letters and the countless messages on social media. Damien O'Reilly for leading the funeral cortege in his rally car and to Michael McDaid for positioning his at the chapel and funeral home also. To the Mass Choir and Singers and special thanks to Danielle Carney and Tully Group of Singers for the wonderful music and selection of special songs. Fr. Saghar Sabir for the Funeral Mass along with Fr. Tom Coffey. Fr. John Chester for the wonderful Month's Mind. Grateful thanks to St. Patricks GAA for use of the Clubhouse for refreshments. Most special thanks to Ollie and Leo Swift of Swift McCaffrey Funeral Home for their kindness, compassion and helpfulness and guidance throughout the week and all duties conducted including grave preparation. We are eternally grateful to you both. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment of our sincere gratitude. To our own families, close friends and special neighbours who carried us through our darkest of days, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for our empathy, compassion and love. You supported us through our hardest days in so many ways. We are and will always be eternally grateful to you all. Daire's Month's Mind Mass was celebrated on Sunday 13th August last at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Newtownbutler at 11.30am. We thank you all and pray for you all. Mass will be offered for all your intentions. May Daire and Gene McDonald rest easy in Heaven. "At the rising of the sun and it's going down we will remember them".
