HUMES Eric 16th August, 2024 Peacefully at South West Acute Hospital, formerly of 88 Lack Road, Irvinestown. Dearly loved husband of Eileen, devoted father of Leta (Eric), Cyril (Lorraine), Helen, Mark (Karen) and Clare (Trevor). A much loved grandfather, great-grandfather and brother of Eileen, (Charlie), the late Norman (Ivy). "I thought of you today, But that is nothing new, I thought of you yesterday, And will tomorrow too. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, It's the heartache of losing you, That will never go away. Safe in God's keeping, Until we meet again." Throughout your life you'd be around, To lend a helping hand, Friends and neighbours eager to say, Eric, a quiet and true gentleman. Working hard was your main aim in life, To provide for family and Eileen your wife, Your hands were never idle, You liked to make and mend, Bits and bobs scattered around the place, Clutter to drive us all round the bend. You were never that old saying, All work and no play, You liked to tell a cheeky joke, With a yarn or two never far away. We grew up listening to the Irish Country Greats, Big Tom, Philomena and Ray, Charlie Pride also a favourite of yours to play. You taught us oh so many things, you showed us the way, We'll try to carry on your good work, By living your values each and every day. Although our hearts are broken and forever we'll feel sad, There's one thing you can be sure of, We're all proud to call you our lovely dad."
