Irvinestown produced a fine second half performance to secure the Fermanagh IFC title at Brewster Park tonight.
Trailing by four points as half time approached, Shane Goan's side landed four points on the bounce to go in level at the break and a James Duffy goal eight minutes in to the second half put them into a lead they would never surrender.
Teemore though were the quicker to settle in the game and they raced into an early three point lead with Jason McCaffrey, John Fitzpatrick and Declan Reilly on target for the Shamrocks.
After a nervy opening, Irvinestown though did begin to find their feet and they landed the next three points to bring the sides level by the midway stage of the half.
Stephen Sherdian opened their account and this was followed by scores from Kevin Duffy and Ronan Campbell t make it 0-03 apiece.
However, Teemore were to reassert themselves after this and an Eoin McManus free edged Sean Donnelly's side back in front before they were then awarded a penalty.
Declan Fitzpatrick was upended as he bore down on goal and Eoin McManus stepped up to plant the penalty low to the corner to put Teemore into a four point lead.
Indeed, that advantage could have been greater but McManus missed three frees and it was Irvinestown who were to go on and finish the half on top.
The St. Molaise banged over four unanswered points in the final four minutes of the half to go in level at half time.
Ronan Ormsby fired over from the left hand side and this was followed by a Gary Maguire free and points from play from Liam McQuaid and Sheridan to leave it 1-04 to 0-07 at the interval.
Teemore regained the lead at then start of the second half when defender Ciaran McManus burst through to fire over but after this Irvinestown took control. Sheridan banged over a super score, his third of the game and this was followed by a goal from James Duffy. A flowing move saw Duffy put through and he made no mistake in slotting home.
When Liam McQuaid then tagged on a point it moved Irvinestown into a five point advnatage, 1-10 to 1-05.
Teemore never threw the towel in though and points from Sean Curry and Paul Martin reduced the deficit to three with ten minutes to go.
However, Irvinestown were able to reply and scores from Kevin McDonnell and Maguire moved them five clear 1-12 to 1-07 with five minutes to go.
The Shamrocks piled on the pressure late on and Martin and Eoin McManus registered points but they could not get through for the goal they required as St. Molaise deservedly clinched the title.
