POLICE have launched an investigation into vandalism caused to Enniskillen's Christmas tree in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
According to the PSNI, the tree, located at the Diamond, was vandalised and numerous decorations were broken, lights were torn down and branches on the tree were broken off.
One of the light displays was also damaged and the parts were located in Eden Street car park.
"The elves working hard at Fermanagh and Omagh District Council have spent a lot of time and effort trying to decorate the town and bring a festive feeling to Enniskillen," said a police spokesperson.
"We at the Police Station don't take kindly to anyone trying to be a grinch and ruin Christmas! Anyone who would like to report any information about this incident can contact police on our non-emergency telephone number 101. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
