There has been immense sadness at the death of Mrs. Matilda Elizabeth (Tillie) Elliott on March 10, (peacefully) at South West Acute Hospital.
Tillie was born in Cootehill, Co. Cavan. Her late parents John William and Margaret Ellen Armstrong moved to Fermanagh during the late 1930s.
Tillie married James Robert Elliott on March 7, 1956 and they made their home at Drumadillar, Derrygonnelly. They had been married for 64 years and were dedicated to each other.
Tillie worked at the Doctor’s Surgery of Doctor Side and Groves-Raines in Derrygonnelly for 29 years where she made many friends. She was immensely popular with the patients and their families.
Jim and Tillie moved to Killyvilly, Enniskillen during the 1990s and she continued to drive to the surgery in Derrygonnelly on a daily basis and retired in 2000.
The large attendance at Rossorry Parish Church on Friday, March 13 was a fitting tribute to her and the family circle.
She was married in this Church by Archdeacon Pratt. She was laid to rest in the adjoining graveyard.
She is survived by her husband Jim and brothers Jimmie, Thomas, Cecil, Kenneth, Cyril and Norman and their families.
She was predeceased by her brother John William (Jack) and her sisters Gertie and Peggie.
Donations in lieu can be made to Rossorry Parish Church c/o W. T. Morrison, 41 Darling Street, Enniskillen, BT74 7DP.
