A delighted Ederney captain Declan McCusker tells Ciaran Flaherty that it was 'now or never' for Ederney as they secured a first New York Cup in 52 years with victory over Derrygonnelly Harps at Brewster Park tonight.
Goals from Mark McCauley and Sean Cassidy were key for the St. Joseph's men in ending Derrygonnelly's five year reign as Fermanagh champions, while 39 year old Marty McGrath produced a man of the match display in the middle of the park.
Derrygonnelly had started well with a goal from Micheál Glynn but a Mark McCauley penalty got Ederney going and they went in at the break with a 1-05 to 1-01 advantage.
And Sean Cassidy netted a second goal for Ederney in the 53rd minute as they ran out thoroughly deserving 2-08 to 1-06 winners.
