POLICE in Fermanagh are investigating the circumstances of a death on Lough Erne over the weekend. The PSNI and the Community Rescue Service have confirmed the death of a man on Lough Erne on Saturday afternoon.
The man entered Lough Erne at the Drumettagh Road area of Derrylin.
A spokesperson for Community Rescue said: “CRS was called by the PSNI at 6pm on Saturday and our team arrived on scene at 7:30pm. The agency had been tasked and worked alongside other agencies to find and recover a body. CRS recovered the body of a 69-year old male. The management and volunteers of CRT express our deepest sympathies to family and friends of the deceased at this sad time.”
A spokesperson from the PSNI said: “Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man whose body was recovered from the water at the Drumettagh Road area of Derrylin on Saturday afternoon (January 2nd). The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
