FERMANAGH Women's Aid, in partnership with Fermanagh and Omagh PSNI, will be facilitating free online domestic and sexual violence training for salon professionals in the Enniskillen area.
Enniskillen-based hairdressers and beauticians are being encouraged to sign up for the 'In Safe Hands: How Salon Professionals Can Help' training, which will take place online on Thursday, January 28 from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The session is funded by Enniskillen BID.
During the training, salon professionals will learn how to recognise the signs of domestic violence and respond appropriately to disclosures.
All of the salon professionals who previously attended these sessions said that they had had a disclosure of abuse but didn't know how to respond. Thanks to the training, they now know the appropriate action to take.
Participating salons will receive a certificate of attendance and resources for their salon. PSNI Vulnerability Inspector Joni Beatty will be co-facilitating the session.
Following the high demand, there will be a second session for Omagh-based salon professionals on February 1 hosted by Fermanagh Women's Aid and Omagh Women's Aid in conjunction with the PSNI. This session is funded by Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP.
For further information or to book a place on either of these sessions, contact Michelle Alonso at training@fermanaghwomensaid.com, or phone 0772 514 8407 .
