FERMANAGH'S island town, Enniskillen, has been named as one of the most welcoming places in the UK for a second year, courtesy of Booking.com's Traveller Review Awards 2021.
Enniskillen was recognised in the site's list of the five 'most welcoming cities in the UK', based on the share of properties receiving a Booking.com Traveller Review Award in 2021.
This is the second year that the town has been recognised for being a very welcoming place, having been included in Booking.com's 'Top 10 welcoming UK cities' in the Traveller Review Awards 2020.
A spokesman for Booking.com said: "Located almost exactly in the centre of Northern Ireland, Enniskillen is rich in history and surrounded with picturesque scenery, watersides and natural beauty.
"Serving as the ideal base to explore the wonderful charm of County Fermanagh, guests will not be disappointed by the range of places to visit and experience.
"You will be able to sense Enniskillen’s unique character and special atmosphere everywhere you go."
The other places named in this year's top-five list include Fort Augustus, Highlands; Kirkwall, Orkney; Frome, Somerset and Douglas, Isle of Man.
