A WALK near Pollnagollum Cave in Boho, Co. Fermanagh, led to the striking of a new friendship between man and bird today.
Tom Gilroy, a local photographer from Boho, was out for a walk when he came across his nephew, Stephen Gilroy, who was also out for a walk close to the caves which were once used in Game of Thrones.
Tom explained that as they walked, a robin kept "flying around their heads" and he told his nephew to offer it some food and see if he would fly on to his hand.
The result was an amazing slow-motion video of the bird flying on to Stephen's hand, before taking the orange slice and flying away.
Tom also got some brilliant photos of the whole thing, which played out right in front of their eyes.
"The wee robin just happened to be flying around our heads when we were talking," explained Tom.
"So I said to him, 'Why don't you put something in your hand and see if he'll fly on to your hand?'
"It just worked the first time he did it. The robin was very friendly; he must have been very hungry. He seemed very trusting."
