A SEASONAL entry of stock met a flying trade at the weekly Tuesday sale in Lisnaskea Mart on January 26, with pre-registered buyers and strict social distancing ringside.
Quality weanlings from a Garrison producer met an outstanding demand, with a Limousin heifer, 310kgs, fetching £885 (£2.85 per kg); Charolais heifer, 290kgs, fetching £810 (£2.79), and for male calves, Simmental, 300kgs, fetching £740 (£2.46), Charolais 370kgs fetching £910, and selling to a top price of £1,050 for a 470kg Charolais, and £1,030 for a 430kg Aberdeen Angus.
Newtownbutler producer sold a pen of Charolais bull calves resulting in £715 for 270kgs (£2.64), 320kgs for £830, 330kgs for £780, 290kgs for £780, 340kgs for £805.
Derrylin producer sold a batch of Limousin bull calves to a top of £910 for 370kgs.
A nice entry of Hereford bull calves from a Derrylin producer sold to a top of £770.
