The Department of Health's daily update shows there were 28 new cases on coronavirus in Fermanagh and Omagh over the weekend. Five of these cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, this marks the first time since October 1 for cases in Fermanagh and Omagh to be in single digits.
Overall, 28 deaths were reported across Northern Ireland over the weekend and 12 of those were reported in today’s daily update. The number of deaths in Fermanagh and Omagh remains at 80.
1,020 positive cases were recorded over the weekend period with 296 occurring in the past 24 hours.
Breaking down Fermanagh by postal district, from February 1 – 7 shows that BT92 had 16 coronavirus-positive cases, BT74 had eight , BT94 had four and BT93 had three positive cases.
BT94 had one of the lowest rates of cases in Northern Ireland from February 1 -7 with 24.7 per 100,000 population.
The daily update sees the number of cases of Covid-19 recorded in the district in the last seven days continue to drop. There have been 99 compared to and 176 in the seven days from January 25-31.
Looking at the positive cases from the past week by age, there were 15 cases in people aged 19 and under; 26 in those aged between 20 and 39; 35 in those between 40 and 59; 20 in those between 60 and 79, and three aged 80 and over.
The past seven-day rate per 100k of the population in Fermanagh has decreased, with a rate of 84.7 per 100k recorded in the past seven days, the lowest in Northern Ireland and in comparison, to 150.6 per 100k in the week of January 25-31.
There are currently 598 in-patients with Covid-19 across Northern Ireland, with 66 inpatients in the Western Trust.
30 of these patients are in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH). There have been 25 admissions into the Western Trust and 40 discharges in the past week.
There are currently 60 people in ICU with Covid-19 across Northern Ireland, one of those are in SWAH while 54 patients are on ventilators.
SWAH is currently operating above capacity at 104.71 per cent bed capacity.
Across the care home sector, there are currently 94 confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in homes across Northern Ireland and one outbreak of an other respiratory (non-covid) illness.
There has been a decrease of 2 active outbreaks in the past seven days, with 20 outbreaks across 71 care homes in the Western Trust.
