Sean Lynch MLA to host online public meeting calling for Lisnaskea Bank of Ireland branch to stay open
The Sinn Féin MLA for Fermanagh South Tyrone will host an online public meeting on Thursday, March 11 at 7.30pm calling for the Bank of Ireland branch in Lisnaskea to stay open.
Sean Lynch said: "For towns and communities to thrive, we need our local bank branches to stay open.
"In the middle of a pandemic, when customers and businesses are under severe pressure, it is scandalous that Bank of Ireland are closing local bank branches.
"Keeping our local branch in Lisnaskea open is crucial for our community and I will be hosting an online public meeting on Thursday the 11th at 7.30pm.
"I am urging people to attend this meeting and to call for the Bank of Ireland branch in Lisnaskea to stay open.
"It will not be lost to anyone that the Dublin Government owns 14% of BoI after Irish taxpayers bailed the bank out. Paschal Donohoe, the Minister for Finance, must intervene and stop this.
"It must also be pointed out that the north's regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority has already called for no bank closures during the pandemic."
