FIREFIGHTERS used cutting equipment to rescue two casualties from their vehicles following a road traffic collision (RTC) involving two vehicles on the Killadeas Road this morning (March 8).
Three Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) appliances – two from Enniskillen Fire Station, and one from Irvinestown Fire Station – attended the incident following a call at 7.56am this morning.
Other emergency services were also in attendance, including the PSNI, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), and the Air Ambulance service.
A NIFRS spokeswoman said: “Firefighters were called to a two-vehicle RTC on the Killadeas Road, Irvinestown this morning.
“Firefighters used cutting equipment to rescue two casualties from their vehicles.
“The casualties were taken into the care of the NIAS, and taken to hospital. The incident was dealt with by 9.31am.”
The Killadeas Road between Trory Roundabout and Killadeas is currently closed, with the PSNI advising road users to divert through Irvinestown until further notice.
