A MAN who was found in possession of drugs has been given a probation order.
Arnold Murray (38), with an address of Cleen Gardens, Fivemiletown was spoken to by police on November 13 of last year.
At around 3pm the defendant was in a car on the Belfast Road, Enniskillen when he was spoken to by an officer.
They believed he was in possession of drugs, and a search was to be carried out.
Murray told the officers he was in possession of drugs and during the search a clear plastic bag containing cannabis was found under the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
During interview, Murray admitted it was for his own personal use.
Murray’s solicitor, Michael Fahy, said that there were no “trapping of wealth” or “opulence” to suggest Murray was anything other than a habitual user.
Mr. Fahy added that it was clear the court was dealing with an individual who kept himself to himself, and any harm done was to himself alone.
District Judge Steven Keown ordered Murray to complete 12 months’ probation and told him engaging with probation would help him deal with his problems.
