THE Fermanagh and Omagh district has reported one additional Covid-related death.
The death occurred on March 21, but was only added to official figures over the weekend, bringing the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the district to 84.
According to Department of Health data, the victim was a woman aged over 80, who died at the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH).
In the past 24 hours, no new Covid deaths were recorded in Northern Ireland (NI), but there were 65 new Covid cases reported across NI.
Over the weekend, there were 17 new cases of Covid-19 in the Fermanagh and Omagh district, with two new positives cases in the past 24 hours.
According to the daily update from the Department, the district has the second-lowest seven-day rate per 100 thousand people in NI, at 33.4 per 100k, which equates to 39 cases in the past week.
Out of those 39 cases, 11 were aged 19 and under; seven were between the ages of 20 and 39; 14 were between 40 and 59; five were between 60 and 79, with one aged 80 or over.
Locally, the BT93 area has continued to record zero Covid cases for the past seven days; BT74 saw two; BT92 saw nine; and BT94 saw two cases.
The latest data shows there are 32 Covid-19 in-patients across the Western Trust, while across all hospitals in NI, there are 129 such in-patients. There are 17 Covid-19 ICU patients across NI; 12 are currently on ventilators.
There are 12 Covid-19 in-patients in the SWAH, with one Covid-19 patient being treated in ICU in the SWAH.
As of March 29, there are five confirmed active Covid outbreaks in care homes – a decrease of three, compared with the previous seven days
