A 79-YEAR-OLD man who became trapped underneath a vehicle in the Mackan area on Saturday (April 10) was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast to be treated for his injuries.
Two Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) appliances, one from Enniskillen Fire Station and one from Lisnaskea Fire Station, attended the incident on the Clonursan Road, Enniskillen following a call at 11.53am on Saturday morning.
An NIFRS spokeswoman said: "Firefighters were called to reports that a man was trapped underneath a vehicle.
"When firefighters arrived, the casualty had been removed from under the vehicle.
"Firefighters helped remove the casualty from the scene using manual handling techniques and stabilised the vehicle.
"The casualty was then taken to hospital by air ambulance and the incident was dealt with by 1.48pm."
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, the PSNI and the Air Ambulance were also in attendance.
A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Police received a report of an incident at a property in the Clonursan Road area of Enniskillen just before 12pm on Saturday, where a man had become trapped under a vehicle.
"The man was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he was treated for his injuries."
