A 34-YEAR-OLD man is set to face trial in relation to more than 60 charges, which includes incitement of child prostitution.
Alun Cleary, 34, with an address of Main Street, Belleek, appeared via videolink at Enniskillen Magistrates Court, today (Monday) for a committal hearing.
The alleged incidents relating to the charges date from 2005 to 2016, and include four charges of causing or inciting child prostitution, five charges of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and three charges of attempting to incite a child into sexual activity.
There are three charges of attempting to incite child prostitution, three charges of distributing indecent images of a child, and five charges of possession of a prohibited image of a child.
Further charges include making of indecent images x 12, 23 charges of possession of an indecent photograph, and single charges of attempting to engage a child in sexual activity, possession of an extreme pornographic image, and to intentionally encourage or assist to commit an unlawful act.
The charges relate to several children described in the charges as either "known female" or "unknown male" on one occasion.
A Public Prosecution Service (PPS) representative told the court there was a case to answer, which District Judge Steven Keown agreed with.
The defendant spoke only to say that he understood the charges, and that he did not wish to give evidence or call witnesses on his behalf at this time.
Cleary was remanded on £500 bail and is due to appear again at Dungannon Crown Court on May 18.
