POLICE are investigating reports of youths entering the former Railway Hotel in Enniskillen in relation to a "deliberate" fire at the property last Friday evening (April 16).
Following a call at 6.18pm, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) personnel attended the incident, where a small fire had been lit in the property.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the PSNI were also in attendance.
Speaking to The Impartial Reporter on Friday evening, an NIFRS spokesman said: “Firefighters from Irvinestown, Lisnaskea and Enniskillen responded – a total of 17 personnel.
“Firefighters used six breathing apparatus sets, three jets and three thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.
“The cause was determined as deliberate ignition.”
Police are now investigating a report of youths having entered the derelict hotel at Forthill Street, Enniskillen at approximately 6pm that evening.
A PSNI spokesman said: "A small fire had been lit in the property; however, thanks to NIFRS, there was no fire damage to the building itself.
"We are asking if anyone has any information in relation to this incident to please contact police at 101, quoting reference 1574 of 16/4/21."
