A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been convicted of using a vehicle in a dangerous condition and failing to provide his driving licence.
At Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday, the court heard on November 15 last, Michael McKenna, of Drumcullion Road, Drumierna, Ederney, was spoken to by police in Lisnarick at around 12am.
McKenna was in a parked Volkswagen Jetta and when officers inspected the car they observed that both front tyres and one rear tyre were well worn and below the minimum thread depth.
A fixed penalty was issued to McKenna, and he was ordered to produce his licence; however, checks at a later date showed he did not pay the fixed penalty.
Tommy Owens, representing McKenna, told the court his client had no licence at that stage as he had lost it and had applied for a duplicate, hence the failure to pay the fine.
For the two charges, McKenna was fined £400 by District Judge Steven Keown.
