THE Enniskillen Public Realm Scheme is progressing well as workmen continue to carry out their job in the town centre.
There has been some disruption to traffic flow and currently a notable level of dust in the centre raised by the works.
A newsletter from contractors FP McCann revealed an update on the progress of the works.
“Paving and kerbing is progressing well on the project with a number of areas now complete. Kerbing and paving is now complete from Café Cellini to Regal Pass.
“On Church Street, kerbing and paving has been completed from Vincent’s to St Michael’s Church, and on Darling Street, from St Michael’s down to Wesley Street.
“Paving and kerbing is also completed on the right hand side of Paget Square.
“38 of the street lighting columns have been installed to date, with 21 lanterns fitted. There are nine tree pits installed, to date, with trees due to be planted in March 2022.
“Drainage improvement works remain substantially complete. We have 23 per cent of the pavement areas now completed.”
The works have moved to the next phase, with work now primarily concentrated at High Street and Church Street, outside of Halifax, and working towards St. Michael’s Church.
Work is also taking place at Townhall Street and East Bridge Street, taking place from outside Bees Knees heading towards Oxfam, before moving across to Danske Bank and heading towards Queen Elizabeth Road.
