THERE was palpaple excitement across Fermanagh and Northern Ireland this morning (Friday) as close-contact services reopened.
Impartial Reporter photographer John McVitty was out and about in Enniskillen and captured some of the first cuts in Fermanagh.
Kelley's Barber Shop was one of the very first to reopen, with the early bird 6:30am start welcoming clients for their first cut since Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, down the street at Headhunters Barber Shop and Railway Museum, there was a queue as men waited patiently for their chance to get their hair trimmed.
David Black, from Ballycassidy, was the first man in the hot seat and enjoyed a hair cut from Gordon Johnston.
Meanwhile, the scissors and foils were out as ladies returned to the hairdressers and beauticians, all looking forward to getting their hair dyed and nail done.
First Minister Arlene Foster told this newspaper last week while on a visit to Enniskillen that she, too, was looking forward to visiting her hairdresser when restrictions eased.
Enniskillen-based Julie O'Shea, Eden Hair, summed up the mood of local barbers, hairdressers and beauticians when she told this paper it was "wonderful to be back – I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again".
