THURSDAY’S daily Covid-19 update from the Department of Health saw two new cases of Coronavirus recorded in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area, bringing the total to 5,957 cases.
There were no deaths locally, and no further deaths in Northern Ireland. In the Council area, the death toll stands at 85 people, while across Northern Ireland, the death toll has reached 2,146 people.
Positive cases across Northern Ireland now stand at 120,702 people after 102 cases were recorded by the Department of Health yesterday.
Encouragingly, the seven-day positive case rate in the Council area is falling, and now stands at 30.8 per 100,000 people.
There were 36 new Covid cases reported in the past seven days, compared to 57 from April 22-28.
Out of the 36 positive cases recorded in the past week, 16 were in people aged 19 and under; ten were aged between 20 and 39; eight were between 40 and 59; two were between 60 and 79, with none aged 80 and over.
From April 27-May 3, postal districts in Fermanagh recorded nine new cases. The BT93 area recorded five new cases; BT74 one; BT94 three; and BT92 none.
There are five Covid patients in the South West Acute Hospital, with one Covid patient in ICU.
As of May 5, there were five confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in care homes across Northern Ireland. Two of the separate outbreaks were asymptomatic, whilst three were symptomatic.
