Police have charged a 34-year-old man to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 12 May.
He is charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and cultivating cannabis.
As is normal procedure, all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
This follows the discovery of drugs worth approximately £20,000 by police in the Newtownbutler area of the county on Monday.
Officers conducted a search of a property in the area and seized 42 adult plants and equipment used to cultivate cannabis.
Inspector Darryl Johnston said: “This was a significant discovery by officers working to keep the community safe. Our investigation is ongoing and anyone who has information that could assist us should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1744 of 10/05/21. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
