A man is due to appear before Omagh Magistrates Court next month following the discovery of a haul of indecent images and "extreme pornography" in Co. Tyrone.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives from Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit have charged a man with a number of indecency offences.
The 33-year-old man has been charged with possession of Category A and Category C indecent images of children and possession of numerous images of extreme pornography. He is expected to appear before Omagh Magistrates Court on June 10. As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges follow the discovery of images on mobile phones during the search of a property in Co. Tyrone on January 27, 2020 as part of an investigation into the activities of violent dissident republicans.
