FILMING for a new Irish language TV series recently took place at Enniskillen Castle Museums.
Armagh-based production company Macha Media visited the Fermanagh landmark on Monday, May 17 to film as part of the series, which will be following two presenters as they travel the River Erne by kayak from Loch Gamhna in Cavan, through the Cavan lakes, across Fermanagh, and out to Ballyshannon.
They are stopping off at various points to learn about some of the local stories, customs and pastimes, especially of the Gaelic history of the areas.
Interviewing Catherine Scott, Development Officer at Enniskillen Castle Museums, a wide range of heritage and history was explored including the Maguires, the Annals of Ulster, the Plantation of Ulster, and the importance of the waterways.
