Enniskillen RNLI were tasked to a report of a boat drifting in the area of Castle Caldwell to safety on Monday evening, (31 May).
The volunteer crew were requested to launch their inshore lifeboat at 6.45pm following a report that a fishing boat was adrift close to Castle Caldwell with the fishing gear still attached. No one was onboard and the initial concern was that someone was in the water or stranded. The PSNI was also tasked to the area.
Weather conditions at the time were described as good with a slight breeze.
On arrival, the lifeboat crew and the police checked the boat and a short time later were able to return the vessel safely to its owner.
Speaking following the call out, Enniskillen RNLI Helm Wayne Robinson said: "Thankfully no one was in any danger and we were able to safely and successfully return the boat to its owner.
"As we prepare for a busy summer on the lake, we would encourage all boat owners to be prepared ahead of the season. It is important to ensure your engine is well maintained, has enough fuel, and is properly secured.
"When on the lake, always wear a lifejacket or buoyancy aid on deck and always carry a means of calling for help. Check the weather and forecast times before heading out and let someone on the shore know where you are going and when you are due back. Should you get into difficulty or see someone else in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard."
