There has been sadness throughout the community following the death of Mrs. Eileen Boyd (nee Irvine) of 10 Tudor Park, Fivemiletown, who passed away on April 3, 2021 peacefully at home.
Born at 10 Kell Road, Fivemiletown, Eileen attended Andrew Wood Primary School and then Omagh Technical College before starting full-time employment which she then gave up after the arrival of her first child.
At this time she was married and living at Ballymacan, Clogher. The family moved in the early seventies to a farm at Ballyreagh, Brookeborough where they had many happy years until the death of Albert in September 1981. A few years later the family moved to Tudor Park, Fivemiletown.
Here Eileen joined Cavanaleck Presbyterian Church. Eileen was a great tea and scone maker for the P.W. and was also a member of the Methodist women in Ireland group and the local friendship club.
Many a hat and scarf was knitted for the seamen’s mission and the Christmas shoe box appeal. Eileen always had a no nonsense approach to everything and a just get on with it attitude. She was a first class mum and great friend to many. She is sorely missed.
Eileen's funeral took place on Easter Monday, April 5 at Cavanaleck Presbyterian Church and burial was beside her late husband Albert at Maguiresbridge Presbyterian Church.
Eileen leaves behind three children, Fred (Donna), Sandy (Adrian) and Malcolm (Jacqui) along with seven grandchildren Richard, Alfie, Emily, Samuel, Sophie, Matthew and Hollie and four siblings Ivy (the late Allen), John, Marshal (Lynn) and Frances (Errol).
Funeral arrangements were professionally handled by SR Elliott Funeral Directors.
