THE family of the late Nuala McLaughlin, who passed away last year following a battle with Covid-19, have arranged a 5k walk in memory of the late social worker.
A native of Glencull, Ballygawley, Nuala was a Family and Child Care Social Worker with the Western Health and Social Care Trust.
She passed away as a result of Covid-19 last December at the age of 43.
During the last few weeks of her life, she was cared for by the committed staff in the intensive care unit (ICU) in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH), Enniskillen and her family are now inviting people to take part in this walk in Nuala’s memory, to help raise funds for the ICU and also Child Support Services – a cause that was close to Nuala’s heart.
The walk on Sunday, July 4 will take place in the lovely countryside close to Nuala's family home. It will begin and end at Errigal Road, and signs to the start point will be in place on the day on the main Ballygawley to Omagh Road.
People can register for the fundraiser, which will take place from 5am to 9pm on the day. In the interest of health and safety, and in the light of Covid guidelines, it’s suggested that people stay with their partner or family unit when completing the 5k route, and it’s suggested that families start and finish the route together.
Nuala's family and supporters of the fundraiser invite everyone to join in celebrating Nuala's life on the first weekend in July, with all participants also helping two support two worthy causes in the process.
For anyone who is unable to book a time slot on the day, it is suggested that they consider doing the walk close to their own home.
