Costcutter on The Diamond in Enniskillen town centre is closing in August, with a “large English multiple” expected to take up the lease of the premises at Townhall Street in October or November.
Speaking exclusively to The Impartial Reporter this week, a spokesman for the Sweeney family, which owns the premises currently leased by Loanes’s Costcutter, said: “Costcutter are moving out. The post office will be moving to a premises very close to its old location.”
He went on to explain that the Sweeney family are in “advanced negotiations” with a “large English multiple” to take a new lease.
The spokesman was unable to reveal the name of the company at this time due to the ongoing negotiations; however, it is understood that it is a retail company that currently has two stores in Northern Ireland, as well as stores in Canada, England, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.
This newspaper understands that the lease of the premises for the Costcutter shop ends this August, with the new company expected to take over the lease in October/November.
