Police in Fermanagh have arrested one person following an alleged hit and run crash.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Erne North Neighbourhood Team are investigating a report of a hit and run road traffic collision on the Main Street of Belleek yesterday evening at around 7pm. It is believed that the offending vehicle collided with a Volkswagen van but at present we have no other details of the vehicle that was hit."
The police extended their thanks to the community. The spokesperson said: "We would also like to thank the community in Belleek, your prompt 999 call enabled us to locate the offender quickly, and they have been arrested for several motoring offences, including being well over the legal limit for alcohol, providing a roadside sample of breath which read 144. The limit is 35. Your prompt action has certainly helped make our roads safer this weekend. Thank you.
"Enquires are ongoing in regard to this incident, but if your vehicle was hit, please get in touch quoting reference 1784 of 10/7/21."
