An intrepid team of four staff members from Lidl’s Enniskillen store went to great lengths (and heights) to raise vital funds for NSPCC Northern Ireland in aid of its flagship event Childhood Day, which took place on 11 June.
The team members were Natasha Little, Clare McKenna, Jamie Fleming and Megan Maguire who recently climbed the Cuilcagh Trail and some of them even undertook this challenge dressed as superheroes! Accompanying them on the climb were real-life superheroes, local firefighters John Logan and Seamus Conlan who were also keen to support the charity.
The Lidl team was sponsored by generous friends, family and customers but not content with this, they also donned their superhero costumes once again in the store on Childhood Day to publicise the event, organised a raffle and raised an amazing overall total of £1,282.
Natasha Little, Duty Store Manager at Lidl in Enniskillen said : “Superhero Day is something we do every year in Lidl to support NSPCC but we wanted to challenge ourselves to do something different this year and hopefully raise even more money, so that’s why we decided to do the climb. I am so proud to be a part of the fabulous team who took part in this event, which raised funds to help make a difference to the lives of children in Northern Ireland. As a mum myself, the thought of children suffering just breaks my heart so this cause means a lot to me personally. Admittedly, it was quite a tough climb but the scenery was stunning and everyone who was there had such a brilliant time - this was made even better by the knowledge that we were supporting such a worthy charity.”
