DRIVERS and people out and about in Fermanagh had a treat for the eyes recently as a tractor run took to the roads, despite some wet weather.
Setting off from Brookeborough GAA Complex, the run saw more than 200 tractors of all shapes, sizes and vintages pass along the roads – all in aid of the Aghavea Aughintaine Parish Development Fund, set up to help raise funds for the renovations of parish churches in Brookeborough, Fivemiletown and Coonian.
Farmers and locals of all ages were happy to come along and give their support for the worthy cause, which also featured a prize draw that drew great interest, not least thanks to an eye-catching top prize of a restored Massey TVO.
The tractor run on July 4 was another great show of the strong community bond in the area, and how much farmers value their churches and helping out the area, when they can – as well as giving all involved a great day out.
