Teen to contest two charges of shoplifting
AN ENNISKILLEN teenager is set to contest two separate shoplifting charges which are each alleged to have occurred a year ago.
Bridget Ward (18), from Yoan Road, is firstly accused of stealing goods to an unknown value from Poundstretcher, Enniskillen on July 1, 2020.
Just under four weeks later, Ward is further accused of stealing Guinness valued at £12 from Tesco, Enniskillen.
A defence solicitor entered not guilty pleas to both charges on his client’s behalf at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday.
Deputy District Judge Greg McCourt listed a contest for hearing on August 16.
Drink driving charge to be contested
A CHARGE of driving with excess alcohol in blood is to be contested, Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard on Monday.
Brian Duffy (51), from Rigg Road, Enniskillen, is accused of committing the offence in the Boho area on January 11, 2020.
A defending lawyer entered a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf.
Deputy District Judge Greg McCourt adjourned the case until August 2, when a contest date will be fixed.
Man accused of driving dangerously
AN ENNISKILLEN man has been returned for trial on a number of motoring charges which relate to an alleged incident last year.
Appearing for a committal hearing before Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday was Dallon Millar (21) of Cleenish Park, who stands accused of driving dangerously and while disqualified on December 1, 2020.
It is alleged the offending occurred on roads between and including Makenny Road, Ballinamallard and Tempo Road, Enniskillen.
A lawyer, appearing on behalf of the prosecution, said there is a case to answer, which was agreed by Deputy District Judge Greg McCourt.
Millar confirmed he understood the charges and declined to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf at this stage in proceedings.
He was remanded on continuing bail to appear before Dungannon Crown Court for arraignment on September 7.
