Farming folk don’t need to be told to make hay when the sun shines – when The Impartial Reporter passed by the townland of Killykeeghan, Marlbank last week, there were plenty of farmers out in the fields with their family members and helpers, busy baling away in the blazing sunshine.
The older, more experienced farmers and their enthusiastic young helpers were kept busy in the fields, with the great weather conditions ensuring some top-quality hay was gathered up, with man and machine working well together to take care of the demanding but vital farm work.
