A COUNTY Tyrone man is facing charges dating back seven years in relation to falsely claiming to be unfit to attend work due to suffering from cancer.
Anthony Gavin (42), from Ballagh Road, Fivemiletown, is alleged to have made five false claims to Americk Weltech, claiming to be suffering from testicular cancer.
Offending is alleged to have occurred in 2014, on March 7 and 16, and on May 30, June 15, and July 21.
On Monday, a defence lawyer told Enniskillen Magistrates Court he required time to consult in full with his client.
Meanwhile, Deputy District Judge Greg McCourt drew attention to the duration since the alleged offending, and suggested this may need to be examined. He agreed to relist the matter for mention on August 23
