The Impartial Reporter has been shortlisted in two categories in the upcoming prestigious Regional Press Awards, which celebrate the very best of local and regional press across the UK.
The nod at the best daily and weekly/Sunday newspapers acknowledges the key roles that such publications play at the heart of communities, with the award-winning The Impartial Reporter continuing to strive to maintain the standards set over almost 200 years by the paper.
This year’s best of 2020 media nods saw The Impartial Reporter nominated in ‘Front Page of the Year – Weekly Papers – sponsored by HoldTheFrontPage’ for our ‘We didn’t get to say goodbye’ cover in April, 2020 (pictured), as the Covid-19 pandemic broke upon the county and country with devastating effect.
Our second shortlisted nod sees John McVitty nominated in the Weekly Photographer of the Year, for his always superb work that helps tells so many personal and important stories every week.
A virtual ceremony in September will reveal the overall winners of the top-tier press awards.
