THE Fermanagh Royal Black commemoration will take place this Saturday, August 7 in Kesh, with a short service and parade.
Following the absence of a parade last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the demonstration returns this year as a full county event, with some visitors invited to attend.
However, in keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, the commemoration will be scaled back compared to previous years, says organisers.
The event will begin at noon with a service led by Sir Knight Reverend Rodney Beacom in a field at Mantlin Road, Kesh. This will be immediately followed by a single parade in the village.
Participants and visitors are asked to ensure they comply with government and health regulations and Covid-19 guidance, and must follow the directions given by police and event marshals at all times.
A spokesman for the Fermanagh Royal Black Institution said: “Some minor traffic disruption may occur between 12.30pm to 1.30pm in the Kesh village area; however, we anticipate that it will be kept to a minimum.”
