Country music star Lisa McHugh announced this week that she is expecting her first baby.

In a post to her social media pages thanking her fans for her birthday wishes on Monday (August 16) evening, the Fermanagh-based singer announced the news that she is pregnant, including a photograph of herself on a beach cradling her bump.

Lisa started the post by saying it was the "most special birthday to date".

"Thank you so much for all the love today WE had an amazing day," she wrote.

She went on to announce her pregnancy news: "Out of every dream and aspiration I hoped to achieve in life, becoming a mum has always been number one on the list and I cannot tell you how excited and incredibly blessed we feel to be starting our little family.

"We cannot wait to meet you Baby K," her post ended.

Last summer, Lisa announced via her social media pages that she was engaged to her long-term boyfriend and "best friend" Enniskillen native Nathan Khan.

Many congratulated the couple on their recent news via Facebook comments, with Lisa's fellow Country musicians passing on their good wishes including Nathan Carter who called it "amazing news".
