A GROUP of people held a peaceful protest in response to what they considered hate speech by evangelical preachers who were preaching using a loudspeaker at the Diamond, Enniskillen, this afternoon.
This follows a similar protest which took place last Thursday (August 12), where a group of three young women – who all class themselves as LGBT+ allies, with one of the women identifying as a member of the LGBT+ community – protesting with a rainbow flag, an internationally recognised symbol of LGBT+ rights, identity and solidarity, asking passersby to stand with them.
Today's protest was again led by the same trio – Orla Bryant, Noelle Thornton and Jamie Farmer – who were joined by other protestors and supporters, some of whom were also holding rainbow flags in solidarity.
Similarly to last week’s incident, none of the preachers are from Fermanagh.
The preachers were again covering a range of topics at the Diamond, including same-sex relations, drawing the attention of the protesters and their supporters.
Videos of the same group of men are listed on the ‘Salvation On The Streets’ Facebook page, where they document their preaching across Northern Ireland.
