THERE is a profound sense of shock and sadness around Boho following the death of Kieran Curley.
It comes following the discovery of a body in a van in Boho on Tuesday morning, August 17.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery on the Samsonagh Road, and are working to establish the circumstances of the incident, with a post-mortem to take place in due course to determine the cause of death.
Mr. Curley was a well-known figure in the community through Traditional music and his work as a plasterer.
Independent Councillor for Erne West, Bernice Swift, knew Mr. Curley personally and spoke of the “extremely harrowing and totally devastating loss of Kieran”.
She said: “My sincere condolences to Geraldine, Ciara and Gary, the wider Curley family circle, and all of Kieran’s very close friends and good workmates; may he now rest in eternal peace.
“The shocking news has ripped through our parish as Kieran was so very well-known and very well-liked. Many of us knew Kieran as a dedicated worker and plasterer; he was a friend to everyone and had a heart of gold.
“I remember Kieran most fondly as he enjoyed a bit of craic with his own good humour and from a distance, if he spotted me, I knew from his beaming smile it was going to be a laugh.
“Kieran was a character in his own right. I always enjoyed his company – people like him are few and far between, that is why his loss is so sorrowfully felt by all who knew and loved Kieran.
“I will certainly remember Kieran Curley very fondly and with a smile,” she added.
