The Fermanagh Ladies senior squad has warned that a number of players will not continue to play for the county if the current executive remains in place.
In a six page letter to the Fermanagh Ladies County Board, the Fermanagh Senior Ladies 2021 squad listed 24 grievances including sponsorship, expenses, finances, player gear and general conduct.
This all comes as manager Jonny Garrity has issued a statement in which in which he has also criticised the current executive and believes that the current situation has "left Fermanagh county football teetering on a cliff edge".
Garrity also says he was surprised that the senior team management had not been offered an extension to their current term.
He had completed his initial three-year term but following his review with the County Executive he was informed that the Executive committee had "made the decision to put the post of Fermanagh senior ladies manager out to tender", adding that he is "very welcome to reapply for the position when it has been made public".
In his statement, Garrity said: “Despite being invited to reapply for the role, I have no intention of doing so under the current leadership of the county executive.”
The outgoing manager also added that "numerous attempts to cultivate a positive working relationship were met with hostility and negativity".
He felt that lines of communication between management and the Executive deteriorated over the course of the season while he also hit out at the lack of a strategic plan and lack of development in underage teams at county level.
Controversially, he has a firm belief that the only way for the county to start moving forward again is for the current executive to be replaced.
The Ladies squad grievances with the Executive are wide-ranging.
With regards expenses, the squad letter alleges that the team manager had to reimburse a player who was based in England £100 out of his own pocket for a flight because a more expensive flight had to be selected due to the player being unable to miss her placement.
The manager was also out of pocket to the tune of £340 to cover a player scan that the County Executive refused to fully reimburse.
In terms of finances the squad said that given the current climate team outgoing expenses were greatly reduced, highlighting the fact that bus hire was only required once and they only received two sit down meals during the year so it was disappointing that requests for additional support services were denied.
The players went on to say that despite a gear order with sizes being sent to the county board on May 17 the full gear was not received.
“Three full competitions later and players are still missing pieces of gear. We went to four league games, an Ulster final and three championship games with different gear, with some newer panel members and physios with no Fermanagh gear at all. We were wearing old sponsors gear even though the new sponsor had been agreed.”
The players were also disappointed that a county window with no club fixtures involving county players which was recommended by the LGFA centrally was not adhered to while they also felt that preparations for their Intermediate Championship relegation play-offs were hampered when three club league games in the space of six days were fixed seven days out from their game.
The letter also hit out at the conduct of certain members of the executive this year, saying it was "disappointing".
In conclusion, the players added: “We understand the county board members and the executive are all volunteers and they dedicate their own time to Fermanagh ladies football and have been endeavouring to function in exceptional circumstances caused by Covid-19 situation. We do not have an agenda against the county board and acknowledge the efforts of many within the Fermanagh Ladies county board of which we are truly appreciative. The disappointing reality is that certain executive members have a clear lack of respect and understanding or both players and management. The unfortunate consequence of this is that a number of players will not continue to play for Fermanagh under the current executive.”
The Impartial Reporter contacted the secretary of the Fermanagh Ladies Executive for a response to these wide ranging allegations but no reply was received at this stage.
It is believed that the matter was discussed at a meeting on Wednesday night but it remains to be seen will a meeting with the players happen and who will replace outgoing manager Jonny Garrity.
