This week’s walk of the week is Killyfole Lough, affording visitors a short but pleasant walk by a calm body of water that the area is well-known for.

Overview

WHERE the townlands of Aghadrumsee, Killylackey, Killyfole and Loughgare meet, there is a body of water known as a lough, with this one called ‘Killyfole Lough’, but also often called ‘the Mill Lough’ by locals, due to there being an old corn mill nearby.

This 1.5-mile walkway around Killyfole Lough has been developed by Killyfole Development Association to an excellent standard, with almost 1km of the path suitable for wheelchairs.

The information on this walking route has been provided by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and also features on a series of walking cards which have been developed to promote walking opportunities, trails and routes within the Council district.

Please note that to help reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19, social distancing should be adhered to.
